Cherry originally lived in S.C. before moving to Florida. He played his freshman year at Orangeburg-Wilkinson alongside current Clemson freshman DB, Jadar Johnson. Clemson offered last month.

During his sophomore year, he racked up 118 tackles and 2 interceptions. He also played running back for his high school team.
