ESPNU 150 member Carlos Watkins Carlos Watkins

Forest City, NC

View Full Profile (Forest City, N.C./Chase) is almost too good to be true. At 6-feet-4 and 285 pounds, he's ranked as the nation's No. 14 defensive tackle prospect in the class of 2012. But he's so much more than that to his high school football team.

"There are only two positions he hasn't played for us," Chase head coach Daniel Bailey said. "Carlos has not played quarterback or defensive back. As a sophomore he also started at offensive tackle. Last season he played fullback, in the slot as a receiver and tight end. As a football player, first and foremost, his agility with his size is incredible. He has great hands and is so athletic for his size. Carlos is a man among boy and has done just about everything for us."

Sometimes Watkins is a little underappreciated. Then, Bailey and his staff go back and watch the film and they can't believe what their big man does week in and week out.

As a junior, Watkins had 50 tackles, 29 tackles for loss and 14 sacks. In 10 games on offense he caught 11 passes for 237 yards while rushing for 270 yards on 65 carries. Class of 2012 ESPNU 150 Watch List Recruit.
