The number one prospect in the country Jadeveon Clowney ended weeks of speculation by announcing Monday morning that he will be signing with South Carolina.
Clowney said playing in the SEC, South Carolina's proximity to home and being able to play with former teammates were the big factors in his decision. Clemson had made a late run at Clowney who delayed his decision two weeks after national signing day. "I was very close to coming to Clemson," said Clowney. "My mom really liked Coach Dabo." Clowney had 29.5 sacks, 28 tackles for a loss this season and 162 tackles in his senior season. He also played tailback at times, running 32 times for 277 yards with nine touchdowns.
