Walk-on wide receiver who attends Clemson on the GI bill…came to Clemson in July of 2012 after serving for the United States Army in Iraq and Afghanistan…hopes to provide backup strength at slot wide receiver and in the return game…named Southern Pigskin Person of the Year for 2011…majoring in political science at Clemson…will wear number-83 for the Tigers…born Jan. 8, 1988

High School Career:
Graduated from Brooke Point High School in Stafford, VA in 2006…played his high school football for Jeff Berry, who is still the school’s coach…played three years of high school football (2003, 2004 and 2005)…played as a slot receiver, running back, cornerback, holder, quarterback and returned kicks…team reached regional playoffs in 2005, Rodriguez senior year…played high school football against many players who went on to Virginia Tech, including Eddie Royals, now with the San Diego Chargers…played basketball four years as well as a point guard….has a sister, Veronica, who played volleyball and basketball at Tennessee Temple...returned from Army to Virginia in October of 2010 and attended Germanna Community College in Virginia.

Military Career:
Served for 1.5 years in Iraq and a year in Afghanistan…earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal with Valor…achieved level of Sargeant…served in the Army from 2006-2010…went to Iraq on Jan. 26, 2007…involved in Battle of Kamdesh on October 3, 2009 when 300 Taliban insurgents battled with US an Army combat post…eight Americans lost their lives and 22 were injured, including Rodriguez
