View Full Profile told head coach Dabo Swinney on Monday that the pain in his left knee was too much to continue to play football.
Parker has dealt with chronic knee problems since high school. He will become a student-coach and remain on scholarship.
2011: Had 10 tackles in 33 snaps over 14 games...had seven special teams tackles...had three tackles in 12 snaps against Wofford on Sept. 10...had two special teams tackles against Boston College on Oct. 8...had two special teams tackles at Maryland on Oct. 15...had one tackle in seven snaps against North Carolina on Oct. 22...had one tackle in four snaps against #3 Virginia Tech in the ACC Championship game on Dec. 3.
