"I didn't know I wasn't cleared," Spiller answered, adding that NFL backs rarely take hits during in-season practices. Queried about Spiller's clearance, Gailey replied, "I don't really know because we don't hit in practice anyway so we'll have to see. If we need to we'll put his pads on and hit him a little bit." Spiller's status is not expected to be decided until Sunday morning.
