in 2002. Shaffer led the Tigers in many offensive categories in 2012. He batted .336 with 21 doubles, two triples, 10 homers, 46 RBIs, 63 walks, and a .448 on-base percentage. In early June, he was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays with the #25 overall pick in the draft.
