View Full Profile has been solid since his return from a second suspension this season, and tossed in 15 points and five rebounds in a crucial road victory over Georgia Tech Tuesday night.
Since his return to the team two weeks ago, he has averaged 10.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
However, his good play doesn't mean he is completely out of the doghouse, at least according to his coach.
Clemson head coach Brad Brownell was asked about Jennings after the Tech game, and Brownell said Jennings has to prove himself each day.
“I hope [his recent play] is something that can be continued," Brownell said. "He knows he’s walking on thin ice with me. The way things have gone, there have been things that have happened I haven’t been pleased with. He’s been suspended for it."
Brownell then went on to say that Jennings has deserved the chances he has received to date.
“Milt is a good kid who does a lot of positive things on our team, in our campus, with people on our campus," Brownell said. "He deserves some chances. He knows he has to earn back the trust, his teammates’ trust.”
However, it appears that he is now out of chances.
“If he becomes a distraction to the team, with things recurring, we’ve shown we’ll do something about it," Brownell said. "I took him away from the team, not let him travel, be around the team for a week. He has to realize it’s a privilege to play. Make him understand it. I’ve suspended guys for NCAA games. It doesn’t bother me to suspend a guy for a couple of games. It’s the right thing to do, the right message to him and our players. That’s what the program is about, what it’s going to be about. The next part becomes removal. He doesn’t want that, I don’t want that. That’s the last thing you want. Maybe it’s reflective of his play and better performance. He’s acted the way he needs to act all the time.”
