Clemson still doing background checks on Venables

According to Clemson SID Tim Bourret, Clemson will not issue an official release or schedule a press conference on the hiring of Brent Venables until all background checks have been completed. Bourret said there will be no press conference Thursday and doubts there will even be an official announcement.

Clemson does not anticipate any problems with the background checks.
