"AP All-American, every category -- no ifs, ands or buts about it," Boyd said. "I mean, there’s a lot of reasons I came back. A lot of it was for the team. I feel like we have the opportunity to make some history but it’s going to take a lot of work. Individually, I want to be the best quarterback in the country. I don’t want to be the No. 2, 3, 4. I want to be the No. 1 quarterback. It’s going to take a lot of work. We want to be the No. 1 team and we just have to continue to grind and take it from there."

And how exactly will he become the No. 1 quarterback in America, when a guy like Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel returns to Texas A&M?

"You can only control what you can control, but with the coaching that I have here, and the type of team we have, I feel like it’s reachable," Boyd said.
