Ryan Stamper - Linebacker
Height: 6-3   Weight: 215   Hometown: Jacksonville, FL (First Coast HS)   Class: 2005

Ryan Stamper has been a linebacker prospect that Dabo Swinney has been after very hard, even though he is committed to Auburn. Stamper will head down to the plains this weekend.

"I am making my official visit to Auburn this weekend. I should know after I get back from Auburn, whether or not I will take any more official visits. Clemson and Florida are trying to get me to take visits with them. Coach Swinney is recruiting me just as hard as he did before I committed. Paul (Muse) has never stopped either. Quentez (Ruffin) calls me too."

For the time being, Stamper is firmly committed to Auburn. However, it appears that Auburn's defensive coordinator Gene Chizik leaving for the NFL. How would that affect Stamper?

"Coach Chizik is a great coach and a great person, but Coach Whitt is the reason I am committed to Auburn right now. That may affect my decision, but not likely. My visits will decide my decison. When I am there, I want to see how I mesh with players and the coaches."

We hope to have Stamper on the air with us Sunday night for the "2005 Sunday Night Recruiting Show brought to you by George Coleman Ford of Travelers Rest." You can listen at WCCP 104.9 FM in the upstate or go online and listen at wccpfm.com.
