Montario Hardesty - Running Back
Height: 6-0   Weight: 190   Hometown: New Bern, NC (New Bern HS)   Class: 2005
ESPN: NR

Montario Hardesty was going through a rough week. New Bern had suffered their first loss of the season in a heartbreaker. Then the standout running back received some uplifting news when he got the call he had made the 2004 Shrine Bowl.

"It is a very big honor for me. The Shrine Bowl was one of my personal goals coming into the year. I am looking forward to the challenge of playing against the best in the Carolinas, but that game is more about the kids who do not have the chance to do what so many of us can."

Hardesty has been on an official visit to Nebraska. He unofficially visited NC State for their game against Miami, and was scheduled to be in Chapel Hill on Saturday for UNC's upset victory over Miami.

"Nebraska was nice. I had never been out west, so it was different. I liked NC State as well, but I would say the facilities at Nebraska are better. State is still working on closing their stadium in, so it will be nice."

Hardesty says along with NC State, Tennessee, Viginia Tech, and Clemson will most likely be his official visits.
