We interviewed perhaps the top cornerback prospect in South Carolina but the best quote came from an opposing high school coach. "We played against some good ones and Northwestern had the Division I kid last season but the junior (Robinson) was the best player on the field," says the rival coach. "He might have been the best on the field as a sophomore. He is a shut down corner."

Robinson plays for one of the best programs in South Carolina and in one of the state's toughest regions. He has 15 interceptions against that competition over the past two seasons. It was this kind of production that has coaches raving about his skills.

"I had nine interceptions, 50 tackles and 20 passes broken up last season," says Robinson. "I love playing corner. I love the thrill of being on an island."

Recruiting has been hot for Robinson. "So far Clemson and South Carolina have offered," Robinson said. "I think other will offer soon. I also like FSU, Florida and Michigan but I am wide open to all schools. I will not commit too early. I want to take my time."

As far as the in-state schools are concerned Robinson stated, " Coach Blackwell is recruiting me for Clemson and Coach Loundsberry for South Carolina. Both seem like nice guys. I have been to both places. I went with a friend to the Clemson-FSU game last year."

Robinson told us he benches 275 pounds and squats 405 pounds.

Justin Miller and Tye Hill are juniors but either could be talked about with the draft next season. Therefore, the Clemson staff will recruit Robinson as one of their top targets in this class.
