Height: 5-10 Weight: 195 Hometown: Stone Mountain, GA (Stephenson HS) Class: 2012
From Dave Hooker of ESPN:
Until the bitter end, the Tigers were in it late with five-star tailback
Keith Marshall Keith Marshall Running Back 5-11, 190 Raleigh, NC View Full Profile
and four-star athlete
Todd Gurley Todd Gurley Running Back 6-1, 200 Tarboro, NC View Full Profile
from Raleigh (N.C.) Millbrook, who is also expected to play tailback in college. Both ultimately picked Georgia. Marshall did so last month. Gurley did so on Friday. As an alternative, Clemson could zero in on
Mike Davis Mike Davis Running Back 5-10, 195 Stone Mountain, GA View Full Profile
from Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson but that looks to be a tough goal to accomplish becasuse South Carolina looks to be in prime position to land the four-star tailback. Davis rushed for 1,923 yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior at Stephenson. Rushed for 1,200 yards rushing, 14 TDs, one on a kickoff return as a junior. Brother of former Tiger running back James Davis. The youngest of five siblings and ”the baby” in the Davis clan. Mike is seven years younger than James.
With two near misses, expect Clemson to focus on landing a top tailback in the 2013 class and try to let the tailbacks of 2012 become a distant memory.
