Clemson regularly visits Marlboro County high school every year. This year is no different. One player currently under evaluation is Varnard Parnell, and the staff will get a chance to evaluate him in person.

"I am going to camp at Clemson. The coaches will get a chance to see me, but it is more about my grades right now."

Parnell could be a linebacker in college following a junior season, where he produced 123 tackles and 15 sacks.

"I am confident I can make plays. Right now, I want to show the coaches what I can do, but I need to get my grades. My coach told me, if my grades were higher, I would have some offers right now."

We will continue to track Parnell, as he could be a prospect he comes on the scene late, if his grades improve.
