, a somewhat under-the-radar three-star forward from Chattahoochee High School in Johns Creek, GA, beating likely down-the-road suitors Georgia and Alabama to the punch in offering a scholarship. Clemson was rewarded quickly with its first commitment for its Class of 2012. The 6-7, 200-pound Blossomgame was offered by Brownell shortly after Clemson's 64-62 loss to North Carolina on Saturday. He is averaging 25 points and nine rebounds as a junior at Chattahoochee, the same high school than sent Charlie Whitehurst, Mark Buchholz and, most recently, Ammon Lakip, to Clemson. Earlier this season, he had a school-record 42-point, 15-rebound performance. He just went over the 1,000-point mark in his career. Blossomgame, who is ranked 32nd among power forwards and in the top 150 nationally by Rivals, plays AAU basketball for the Georgia Stars. He also had early offers from Wichita State, Gardner-Webb, Tennessee Tech and Virginia Commonwealth. "I liked the coaching staff, style of play and the campus" said Blossomgame of Clemson in an interview with allmetrosports.com, which describes him as "a kid that is still improving and working hard to become a full time wing. He possesses a good mid-range game as well as good athleticism." Blossomgame will fill one of six projected scholarship slots in Clemsonapos;s 2012 class. Brownell and his staff are still working on their 2011 class, with two November signees (6-8 forward Bernard Sullivan and 6-3 wing guard T.J. Sapp) and one commitment for April (6-7 wing forward K.J. McDaniels) already in the fold."
