D.J. Stafford - Defensive Line
Height: 6-3   Weight: 265   Hometown: LaGrange, GA (LaGrange HS)   Class: 2007

Clemson got in the game early with DJ Stafford. Stafford has emerged as one of the top defensive line targets in the Southeast. Stafford now holds offers from virtually every ACC and SEC school. Early in the process Stafford had Georgia and Auburn out in front. Has anything changed?

"Auburn and Georgia would still be my top two. I am hearing from a lot of other schools."

Which schools are contacting Stafford the most?

"Alabama and Clemson probably send me the most text messages. I am still looking at those schools."

This past weekend Stafford attended Auburn's camp. He competed with some of the nation's premier defensive line prospects, such as Kerry Murphy. Stafford said he is confident he held his own.

"It went well. I enjoyed the competition. I wanted to proved I could belong with those guys. It is about being the best."

Did he get a chance to speak with the Auburn coaches?

"I had a chance to speak with them. They told me I was one of their top targets. They made sure I felt wanted, and that was important to me."

We will continue to track Napier's progress with Stafford, as he works to get him on campus for an unofficial visit this summer.
