James McKinney had developed a friendship with fellow Kentucky native Justin Miller since his official visit to Clemson. The two were supposed to get together shortly before the holidays, but they were unable to do so. McKinney was shocked when we asked his thoughts on Miller's departure to the NFL.

"Man, your kidding me. Did he really leave? I thought he was going to stay. That is a big loss. Number 9 always showed out. Justin will be a great player in the NFL. I am going to have to give him a call now."

McKinney is down to four schools Clemson, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Nebraska in no order. Oklahoma is the last school that McKinney will make an official visit to on January 21. He may have to leave early, because the same Sunday he has a school banquet scheduled.

Right now, McKinney is getting prepared to play in the U.S. Army All American game in San Antonio, Texas.

"I just have finished getting all my stuff squared away for San Antonio. It is a big honor for me to be selected. I will be playing against the best of the best. San Antonio is also a very fun place to be. I was there last year for the combines."

Coach Ron West and graduate assistant Billy Napier visited McKinney at school yesterday.

"The visit went well. Coach Napier was going around talking to a lot of my teachers. We talked about how they would use me in their system. Coach West and I talked about all the coaching changes going in college football. It just a really good conversation. Michigan will be here tomorrow."
