Dye, a junior, has rushed for 418 yards in two games for a team that’s 2-0 and ranked No. 7 in Class AA. Dye rushed for 186 yards in Elbert’s 27-10 victory over Wesleyan.
Coach Sid Fritts, who came to Elberton from Rome in 2010, says Dye will get stronger as the season goes.
“Tyshon is still getting adjusted to his size,” said Fritts, who led Vidalia (2003) and Rome (2008) to the state semifinals. “He has put over 20 pounds on in the last 18 months.”
Dye is 6-1, 210 and runs a 4.5 or better 40-yard dash. Dye got an offer from Clemson based on last year’s film. Georgia also has offered.
