When defensive lineman Grady Jarrett signed with Clemson yesterday it was the end of a long journey that began with an offer from Clemson in June of 2010.

“It’s been an adventure ... been good, but it’s been real frustrating at times. I’m glad it finally came to an end,” Jarrett told the Rockdale Times. “But I’m really happy that I ended up going to Clemson because that’s where I wanted to be. From everywhere else I’ve been, I’ve never wanted to go to a school more than Clemson. It couldn’t have come at a better time.”

“(Defensive tackle is) probably the position I’m going to play there,” Jarrett said.

Jarrett is a two-time all-state honoree while at Rockdale and is also a 2010 state wrestling competitor and a potential state champion at this month’s Class AAAA state traditional tournament.
