Potter committed to Clemson Wednesday evening
On the same day, BT Potter received a Clemson offer, the Rock Hill (SC) South Pointe kicker committed to the Tigers.
The 2018 kicker committed to the Tigers Wednesday evening and announced his decision via Twitter.
"First off, I'd like to thank God for everything He's blessed me with. I really appreciated all of the coaches who have believed in me and helped me along the way," Potter said. "I would also like to thank Coach Swinney and the rest of the staff at Clemson University for extending me an offer. After sitting down and talking with my family, I have decided to commit to play at Clemson University. This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and I'm so thankful to have the opportunity to do so."
As a junior, the 5'11 South Pointe High kicker went 11 for 15 in field goal attempts with a long of 49 yards and averages 60 yards per kickoff.
According to people at head coach Dabo Swinney's camp, Potter was hitting 50-yard field goals with ease and has great accuracy, even off the ground. He can also punt, but another value Potter brings is that he could be a guy who hits 50 to 60 percent of his kickoffs for touchbacks.
One person who saw Potter kick this morning said he was putting kicks eight and nine yards deep in the end zone on a regular basis.
