(Covington, Ga./Eastside) is the newest member of Charlie Strong’s 2012 recruiting class, and he’s not shy about the decision he made earlier today. “I am the newest Louisville Cardinal,” Rankins said. “I have been quite found of them for a while, even before I made my official visit. And yes, the visit reassured me. Certainly Wake Forest made a strong push. But [Louisville coach] Clint Hurtt was down today and said I am their defensive end. I am the guy they want. I love the coaching staff, the players, the campus, and the city of Louisville. To me, it’s a home away from home.”
Attended the 2011 Orange and White Game in Death Valley. He wants to study pre-med in college.
