Clemson was the first school to offer Clifton Geathers, but since then his offer sheet has skyrocketed. Geathers is starting to become one of the most sought after prospects in the state of South Carolina in recent memory.

"Clemson was the first school to offer me. I believe I have over 50 offers right now. It is pretty tough to narrow things down right now. Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia, and some others stand out."

Geathers has the most offers of any South Carolina prospect since Roscoe Crosby in 2001. This will be a battle that goes down to the wire, but expect Burton Burns to keep Clemson in it until the end.

Geathers has not ruled out coming to Clemson for camp, but he has seen the Clemson campus several times.

"I am most familiar with Clemson and Georgia. My brother played at Georgia, and I went to three games at Clemson last season."

Family travel could be a factor that weighs heavily in Geathers' decision.

"When I go to college, I will still have a younger brother playing in high school, and Robert plays in Cincinatti for the Bengals. My family would like to attend all of our games if possible. When I make my decision, I will try and make it as easy on them as I can, but they want me to do what is best for me as well."

Geathers is the number one player in state this year. Ricky Sapp and Byron Maxwell could challenge him later for the top spot, but right now Geathers towers above the rest.
