As with most 2013 recruits, Powell is a long ways from making a decision.

“If I were to stay in-state, the school I would chose would be Florida,” Powell said. “But out of state, that’s up in the air.”

Conference affliation isn’t high on Powell’s list of things he concerned with while choosing a school.

“I want to go to a school that has a good educational background along with the football,” Powell said. “The SEC isn’t one of the things that pops up into my head.”

Where ever he attends school, Powell will have input from his family.

I’m doing this as a family thing,” Powell said. “I ask my family what are their preferences. If I feel at home at a certain school I’ll bring that with my family and work out and see how that feels. “
