Smith had 47 tackles and eight interceptions during his junior season. He has taken unofficial visits to GT, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. He has camped at Georgia.

Smith has made appearances at Junior Days at Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Miami. He has accepted an invitation to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

Clemson had offered Smith for next year's recruiting class but it seems they are now out of running for his services.
