Carlos Dunlap may have as much upside as any player in South Carolina this year. He is working to overcome academic hurdles, but that still has not kept some big schools from offering.
"NC State, Tennessee, Clemson, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Auburn have offered me. Georgia, Florida State, Miami, and Virginia Tech are all close to offering." Dunlap recently took a trip to Athens to see what the Bulldogs had to offer. "The trip to Georgia went well. Coach (Mark) Richt really spent a lot of time with me, and that really impressed me. Georgia has a big tradition with sending players to the NFL, and that caught my eye." Despite not having an offer from the Bulldogs, Georgia has been rumored to be the team to beat for Dunlap. Dunlap commented on those rumors. "I know that has been out there, but that has not been coming from me. My favorites would have to be the schools that already offered. Georgia is a great school, but I am not leaning anywhere right now. My decision is a long ways away. I am going to take all five official visits after my season." We do expect the Tigers to land an official visit from Dunlap, as running backs coach Burton Burns has held a strong presence in North Charleston.
