Clemson 2015 defensive back commit Juwuan Briscoe decommitted from the school Wednesday on his twitter account.
Briscoe visited Ohio State at the beginning of November for the Ohio State-Illinois game and began the process of looking around at new schools that had offered him in the last few months. Some of the new offers included Oklahoma, Indiana, Florida and Ohio State. Briscoe's coach Paul Friel talked to the Washington Post about his star players decommitment and said that the "decision was mutual between Briscoe and the school." “Earlier in the spring it seemed like he got all the offers he was going to get, and then a couple of schools he did like came through and offered him, so he went ahead and told Clemson he wanted to take the visit to Ohio State, and they weren’t happy with it,” Friel told the Washington Post. According to Friel, a Clemson coach told Briscoe the school would start recruiting other defensive backs if Briscoe added more visits, and Briscoe “said he was fine with that.” Briscoe had 9 rushes for 120 yards and three touchdowns in a 33-0 win over Huntingtown this past Friday. He has rushed for over a thousand yards this season. He was named to the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference first team RB and DB on Wednesday. As a junior, he had 162 carries for 1023 yards, and 14 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he had 38 tackles and had two interceptions. He has offers from Clemson, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Rutgers, Toledo, West Virginia and others. Clemson offered on 4/28/14 and he committed to the Tigers on 5/17/14. Mike Reed is his recruiter of record for Clemson. He has ran a 4.43 laser-timed 40 yard dash, 10.80 100 meter dash and has a 34 inch vertical jump.
