Mike Davis - Running Back
Height: 5-10   Weight: 205   Hometown: Columbia, SC (Columbia HS)   Class: 2005
ESPN: NR

The state of South Carolina is loaded with talent at the running back position this season and some think Columbia High School's Mike Davis is the most talented.

"I have been offered by Michigan, Marshall, Florida, South Carolina, Clemson, Maryland, North Carolina, Kentucky, Auburn and Alabama," says Davis. "But I really could not tell you a top five. You could say that I am wide open right now. I do not have any favorites."

Davis had an outstanding junior season including a great run in the playoffs. "Last season I had 289 carries for 2,349 yards and 25 touchdowns," Davis stated. "On defense I had 49 tackles, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries as a linebacker."

This is a back with good vision and a prospect that breaks tackles. Davis says one of his goals is to work hard in the weight room to get ready for the next level right away. "I bench 300 and squat 475 but I might graduate in December so I need to get stronger to get ready for spring practice."

Clemson did not sign a running back last season. With Tony Nelson already committed, we think the Tigers will look to add 2-3 more backs in this class. Mike Davis, James Davis, Travil Jamison, Rod Fluellen, Patrick Paschall and Roy Upchurch are a few of the backs on Clemson's board that we will follow throughout their senior season.
