James Davis - Running Back
Height: 6-0   Weight: 205   Hometown: Atlanta, GA (Douglass HS)   Class: 2005

Tigers seemed to be falling behind with Atlanta standout James Davis. A win over Miami has put the Tigers right back near the top.

"I had a game Saturday night, so I didn't get to see it. It definitely helped their stock with me a lot. I was shocked by the win. I have always liked Clemson though, they were the very first school to offer me."

One of the main reasons Clemson has stayed in with Davis is Coach Burton Burns. Davis has been very public with his close relationship to Coach Burns.

"Coach Burns still calls me every week. I am actually waiting on him to call now, and talk about the game. We are talking about me coming up there for the South Carolina game on November 20."

The improved running game definitely helps Clemson's case here. Davis wants to go to a program that will show commitment to the run.

By the way, in his game Saturday night Davis had 30 carries for 302 yards. This is the type back Coach Tommy Bowden has longed to get since he came to Clemson.

Davis now has set four of his five official visits. Davis surprised many when he announced that he has set an official visit with Mississippi State.

"I am going to Virginia Tech November 26, then to Clemson December 3, Mississippi January 14, and Tennessee January 20. My last visit will be Alabama or Auburn. Right now, I am planning on taking all five official visits."
