A column in the Augusta Chronicle called Clowney's announcement "The Decision II" and compares Clowney to LeBron James and Columbia to the Cleveland of the South.

And if Clowney picks Clemson like James picked Miami the reaction in Columbia would be very similar.

"Might be worse," Ron Morris, the columnist at The State newspaper when asked to compare South Carolina's reaction to that of Clevelanders in the aftermath of the farcical James televised snub. "It's the persecution complex that has permeated that program for five decades. This would be one more."

"It would totally erase those consecutive wins," Morris said of the feel-good winning streak the Gamecocks currently have over the Tigers.
