Verone McKinley III from Carrollton, TX (Hebron) announced his top group of schools on Friday night according to his Twitter account.
"I am so thankful to God for blessing me with many scholarship opportunities, " McKinley tweeted. "I want to express my since gratitude to all of the schools that have offered me an opportunity to play a sport I love and further my education. As I progress through this unbelievable journey, I have decided to focus my attention on the following schools: Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Texas A&M, and UCLA." McKinley was offered by Clemson on June 13, 2016 when he took an unofficial visit to the campus. In 2015, McKinley had 38 tackles including two for loss, 14 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and four interceptions and was named to the Tom Lemming Sophomore-All American team. In 2014, he had 28 tackles with four pass breakups and four interceptions. He has national offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas State, Baylor, Clemson, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Houston, Illinois, Iowa State, Jacksonville State, Kansas, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Penn State, SMU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Tulsa, and UCLA.
