Clemson has interest in Kelvin Rainey from the First Coast Region in Florida. He plays for the Yulee Hornets in Nassau County.
He is drawing interest from several Division I programs such as Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Alabama, and South Carolina. Rainey has a 4.88 40-yard dash, 4.37 in the 20-yard shuttle, 37 feet in the powerball toss and a vertical leap of 35.7 inches. According to Floridahsfootball.com: "Kelvin Rainey lines up at TE and was a major contributor and leader in helping the Hornets make its first playoff appearance in its short history of being open. However, Rainey does line up at linebacker at times and excelled in that position as he was honored as on the Second Team All-First Coast Defense this past season. In all Rainey wants to keep playing TE in college and he considers himself a hard worker both on and off the field." Below is a TV news report on Rainey's tough childhood that turns out much like the movie "The Blindside"
