ESPN's Jamie Newberg tweeted the following Tuesday evening about the nation's #1 prospect - "Just spoke w/ Jadeveon Clowney's coach, Bobby Carroll. As of right now, the only visit etched in stone for Clowney is ALA this weekend ... schools will be coming out of the woodwork next week and make their way to South Pt HS to see if they can convince Clowney for an OV."

Clowney was scheduled to visit Florida State on January 21, but it is unclear at this point if he will make that visit. New Clemson defensive ends coach Marion Hobby will visit Clowney next week in hopes of trying to get Clowney on campus for a visit.

Clowney canceled a scheduled visit to Clemson after assistant coach Chris Rumph left for Alabama. However, the commitment of LB Lateek Townsend to Clemson might be a big feather in Clemson's hat. Clowney and Townsend are close friends and have expressed the desire to play together in college.

Clowney has already visited South Carolina.
