3-star 2018 defensive end Taylor Upshaw from Bradenton, FL (Braden River HS) named Clemson in his top 10 on Wednesday afternoon according to his Twitter account.
"First off I would like to thank my family, coaches, and anyone who help support me through the recruitment process," Upshaw posted. "I am also very thankful for all the schools who believed in me and offered me a full scholarship." His full Top 10 list included Pittsburgh, Mississippi, Oregon, North Carolina State, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Louisville, Clemson, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound junior is the brother of current walk-on Clemson linebacker Regan Upshaw, Jr. and the son of former NFL defensive lineman Regan Upshaw, the 12th overall pick in the 1996 NFL Draft by the Tampa Buccaneers. Upshaw called Clemson his dream school in the tweet that announced his Clemson offer last week. "WOW! Truly Blessed to receive an offer to my Dream school Clemson University and have the opportunity to play with my Brother! Go Tigers!" The Upshaw family learned about Clemson when Regan Sr. was taking his daughter to western North Carolina in the spring of 2015. The family noticed a Clemson sign and stopped in to see the campus. He sent his son, Regan, Jr., to head coach Dabo Swinney’s high school camp that summer. Upshaw has 26 offers including Clemson, Arizona, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Pittsburgh.
