the nod not because of an athletic advantage over the others. Athletic ability is a given at this level in this state. Blanks, however, possesses a keen eye and cerebral approach to the game of receiver coverage.

Blanks rarely gets juked, keeps his pad level low in the back-pedal and can turn on a dime, yet knows exactly when to make that turn. Good QBs read a DB's hips. Turn too early and you're toast. Blanks doesn't get burnt often.
