4-star safety
Isaiah Simmons from Olathe, Kansas committed to Clemson over his other finalists Michigan and Nebraska on Tuesday evening according to his Twitter account.
Simmons tweeted the following about his commitment to Clemson. "First I would like to thank God for giving me this opportunity and for blessing me with everything that I am able to do. I want to thank all of my family, friends, and coaches that have supported me and led me up to this decision and helping me get through this process. I am also thankful to all the schools that recruited me and had faith that I could make a difference in their program. After a long, hard and thought out decision I have decided to continue my career as a Clemson Tiger!" Simmons also had offers from Arizona State, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, Maryland, Minnesota, and Missouri. Dabo Swinney and Brent Venables had an in-home visit late last month, and Simmons took an official visit to Clemson last weekend. He was recruited to play safety for Clemson and Michigan while Nebraska was looking at him at wide receiver. The Tigers was able to raid the state of Kansas for arguably the top two 2016 defensive players in the state (DE Xavier Kelly and S Isaiah Simmons). On offense, he had 29 catches for 994 yards (impressive 34.3 average) and 13 touchdowns during his senior season. He was also a standout on the defensive side of the ball. He recently participated in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl game and his older brother played football at Kansas. #ALLIN ???? pic.twitter.com/1FKbQzYCUX In home with coach Dabo Swinney and @CoachVenables #ALLIN ?????? pic.twitter.com/EIrh1JqrUe GREAT DAY TO BE A CLEMSON TIGER!!! ???????? #ClemsonFamily #ALLIN Congrats to my boy @isaiahsimmons25 for choosing Clemson! #WeTooDeep#ALLIN
