Four-star 2017 defensive end Jordan Williams out of Virginia Beach (VA) Cox will announce his college choice on August 6th at his school at 5 pm according to his Twitter account.
Clemson reportedly made the cut along with Tennessee, Virginia, Ohio State and Virginia Tech. Williams is a consensus 4-star recruit by all the major recruiting services. He is the No. 238 player in the ESPN300 and has 28 offers including from Clemson, Florida, Marshall, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, South Carolina, Southern California, Temple, Texas State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. As a junior, he had 39 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, two interceptions, seven pass deflections, a forced fumble and recovered two fumbles including one returned for a touchdown. The 6-5, 260-pounder is being recruited by Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables and he plans to visit Clemson for the 2016 All-In cookout. TigerNet spoke with Williams over the weekend and he is excited to learn more about Clemson on his visit. “I'm definitely going to make it to the All In Cookout," Williams said. "That's the last visit I have planned and I'm going to let the school that I'm going to know that it will be my last visit.” Williams said. “I'd like to see where I would be staying my freshman year if I went there. That's what I've been doing lately is comparing dorms. I want to sit down with academics and discuss my major and to see if they have it and what classes I would have to take and all of my credits I would need, in case I do go there because different schools have different standards for different majors, so I definitely want to discuss that and see where that all plays out.” August 6th ??
