Watson on what separates him from other QBs

Former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson met with reporters on Friday as he discussed his upcoming NFL Scouting Combine workout and his excitement for the 2017 NFL draft.

Watson was asked about what separates him from the other quarterbacks in this draft class.

"I'd just say my past history," Watson said. "Starting back in high school, the way I was raised, coming from the projects home and being able to get out of that. Being the face of college football for two years, handling the success, handling all the criticism and the adversity. And then being 48-8 in high school and winning a state championship and then going to the collegiate level and being 33-3, so one thing that translates from college to the NFL is winners and I think, being a quarterback, that's the biggest thing being recognized, winning games. That's all I've been doing."

There is obvious truth to these comments because the other notable quarterbacks that are draft eligible don't have the best winning resumes. If you are looking solely for a winner in this quarterback draft class, Watson appears to be the obvious choice.

College winning-loss record

Clemson QB Deshaun Watson 33-3

Pittsburgh QB Nathan Peterman 14-12

Notre Dame QB DeShone Kizer 12-11

California QB Davis Webb 11-15

North Carolina QB Mitchell Trubisky 8-5

In 2016, Watson completed 388 passes out of 579 attempts for 4593 yards and 41 passing touchdowns with 17 interceptions for an adjusted QBR of 84.9
