Watson selected #1 overall in ESPN's 2017 Mock Draft |
The
latest 2017 Mock Draft has been released on Thursday morning by ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay and Clemson quarterback
Deshaun Watson was projected to the Cleveland Browns with the first overall pick.
"We have limited information on Watson's intangibles, measurables, and medical information, but by all accounts, he has outstanding personal and football character," McShay said. "While I still need to study his reads and true accuracy more, he has a good arm and flashes anticipation as a passer. Watson put up 40 points in the CFP Championship against an Alabama defense that had four players drafted in the top 60 and had another three featured here." Watson completed 333 of 491 passes for 4,104 yards and 35 touchdowns and also had 207 rushes for 1105 yards and 12 scores this past season. His 5,209 yards of total offense and his 47 total touchdowns were ACC records, and his rushing total was a record for a Clemson quarterback. His 487 yards of total offense set a record for a National Championship game, and is the first quarterback in FBS history to have at least 4,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in a single season.
