Watson remains a front-runner in latest Heisman Watch

USA TODAY released its latest Heisman Watch list, and Clemson sophomore quarterback Deshaun Watson remains the #2 player listed with 51 total votes.

Watsons' breakdown of his 51 points in the Gannett Heisman Survey include five 1st-place votes, 17 2nd-place votes and two 3rd-place votes total.

Deshaun Watson had an impressive individual performance in leading #1 Clemson (12-0) to a 37-32 road victory over South Carolina (3-9) on Saturday.

Watson had 393 yards of total offense and was responsible for four out of the five total touchdowns against the Gamecocks in a 37-32 win on Saturday.

The three rushing touchdowns and 114 rushing yards against South Carolina were both career highs for Watson.

Watson has completed 261 for 371 (70.4%) for 3223 passing yards with 27 touchdowns and ten interceptions on the season.

The remainder of the players on the Heisman Watch include RB Derrick Henry (#1), QB Baker Mayfield (#3), RB Christian McCaffrey (#4), RB Dalvin Cook (#5), RB Ezekiel Elliott (#6) and QB Keenan Reynolds (#7).

The Heisman announcement is on Dec. 12 in New York.
