Watson ranked as a Top 5 starting CFB Quarterback |
Clemson sophomore quarterback
Deshaun Watson
Deshaun Watson "Watson could rank among the top three quarterbacks on this list by the end of 2015," Athlon Sports stated. "Injuries limited Watson to just eight games last season, but he finished with 1,466 yards and 14 passing scores." In his rookie campaign, Watson completed 67.9% of his passes for 1,466 yards (10.7 per attempt) with 14 touchdowns and only two interceptions for a tremendous quarterback rating of 188.57. Another superlative is that he had a nation's best 10.7 yards per pass attempt. Watson completed 14 for 19 passes for 269 yards and four total touchdowns in the rivalry win against the Gamecocks. He has been impressive since the beginning of fall camp. The ACC conference appears to have strong signal-callers as five quarterbacks are represented in the Top 15 of the rankings (33%). Other ACC quarterback rankings include Brad Kaaya (#11), Justin Thomas (#12), Marquise Williams (#13), Jacoby Brissett (#15), Everett Golson (#25), Chad Voytik (#39), Reggie Bonnafon (#50), Michael Brewer (#51), Thomas Sirk (#58), Terrel Hunt (#79), Matt Johns (#82), John Wolford (#85) and Darius Wade (#86).
