Watson ranked #1 Rising Quarterback in CFB

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson was ranked as the #1 rising quarterback in College Football according to CBSSports.com.

And that same potential will return in 2015. While I have some concerns about Clemson losing offensive coordinator Chad Morris to the SMU job, with Jeff Scott and Tony Elliott both being promoted from within, at least Clemson's offense will still be run by people familiar with its concepts. Watson in his rookie campaign completed 67.9% of his passes for 1,466 yards (10.7 per attempt) and 14 touchdowns and only two interceptions and had a tremendous quarterback rating of 188.57.

An interesting side-note is that fellow ACC player and Miami signal-caller Brad Kaaya was listed right behind Watson as the #2 rising quarterback in the nation.
