Watson set a Clemson single-game record in his first collegiate start, taking advantage of a reeling North Carolina defense with six touchdown passes in a 50-35 win against the Tar Heels. Dabo Swinney named Watson, the four-star prospect from Gainesville, Ga., the starter after a strong showing against Florida State, and his encore performance helped the Tigers bounce back in the best way possible after the gut punch overtime loss at Florida State. With his ability to extend the play, Watson spread the ball around to 10 different wide receivers for 435 yards on 27-for-36 passing (12.1 yards per attempt).
