has been named one of two Paul Hornung Award Players of the Week for his performance in Clemson’s win at Maryland. The Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse, is awarded annually to the most versatile player in major college football. Fans can vote on line for the finalist at http://www.votepaulhornung.com. The other selection for the week was Brandon Boykins of Georgia. Watkins had a Clemson record 345 all-purpose yards against Maryland. Watkins had three total touchdowns, the two reception scores, and an 89-yard kickoff return for a score. The three touchdowns tied a Clemson freshman record for a single set by Ronald Williams against Appalachian State in 1990.
