From Naples News:

Watkins will head to Clemson University on July 4 as one of the nation’s most highly prized football recruits. His track season and running career might not be over.

Watkins found out Monday that he’s been invited to compete in the Golden South Classic that will be held May 27-28 in Orlando. Sund [track coach] said if Watkins decides to compete in Orlando and has a good showing, he could land a spot in the Dream 100 in New York City.

Watkins said he would like to run track at Clemson, specifically the 100 and 200.

As for his track days at South, Watkins left no doubt that he thrived in the fast lane.

“I enjoyed all four years,” he said “I love running.”
