WATCH: Hopkins scores and dunks on goal post in Pro Bowl |
Former Clemson standout Deandre "Nuk" Hopkins had a huge day on Sunday night's Pro Bowl in Hawaii.
Hopkins had three receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown and did a windmill dunk on the goal post after the 7-yard score from Jameis Winston in the fourth quarter. "We had a Sharpie under the goal post," Hopkins said via NFL.com. "But I wasn't sure if it was under there or not. So I didn't want to go under there and get something that wasn't there. So I took it back to my high school days (playing basketball) like I used to do all the time." He was going to give back to the fans on the sharpie celebration. "I was going to sign the football and give it to a fan," Hopkins said. Hopkins had 111 catches for 1,521 yards and 11 touchdowns and was named as a Pro-Bowl starter for the first time in his career (alternate last season). He is the second player in NFL history along with Randy Moss to record 3,500 receiving yards before the age of 24. He has accrued an amazing 239 catches for 3,533 yards (14.8 ypg) and 19 touchdowns since entering the NFL in 2013. His 2015-2016 season was remarkable in a Texans' historical perspective as he had the third-most catches, fourth-most receiving yards and fourth most receiving touchdowns. He was also the first player in NFL history to have 100-yard receiving games with four different starting quarterback in a single season (Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallett, T.J. Yates and Brandon Weeden).
