Vic Beasley to switch positions for Falcons

by - Assoc. Editor -

The Atlanta Falcons announced recently that former Clemson standout Vic Beasley will move from the defensive end position to strongside linebacker in the Falcons defense for his second NFL season.

“It’s off to a great start,” Beasley said via Falcons.com. “I played a little bit of linebacker in college, but it’s different in the league; there’s more responsibility. But I’m off to a great start with it. … I’m pretty sure in the game plan they’ll use me in rushing and obviously dropping back, going back and forth.”

Beasley is one tough cookie as he played all last season with a torn labrum.

“Honestly, I think it’s blown out of proportion,” Beasley said. “Last year, it really didn’t hinder me. I played with the labrum in college … Now, I’m off a great start, and I feel 100 percent with my labrum.”

He finished his rookie season with 26 tackles and four sacks.
