Two men plead guilty in cover-up of Howard's Rock vandalism |
Michael J. Rogers, 49 and Alden J. Gainey, 20 pleaded guilty on Monday to misdemeanor charges of giving false information to police for their involvement in attempting to cover up Micah Rogers' vandalism of iconic Howard's Rock back on June 2, 2013.
According to witness testimony by Xavia Wynn, Michael Rogers [father of Micah] told the boys to "stick to the story" that they did not damage Howard's Rock and were just visiting the campus. Previously, Micah Rogers of Pisgah Forest (NC) was charged with grand larceny and malicious injury to property valued at more than $10,000 for vandalizing Clemson’s Howard’s Rock. Rogers was was found guilty of malicious damage under $2000 but not guilty of grand larceny at the Pickens County Courthouse on July 23, 2015.
