Two Tigers named to Biletnikoff Award Watch List

by -

Clemson, S.C.—Clemson wide receivers Mike Williams and Artavis Scott have been named to the 2015 Biletnikoff Watch List. The honor is presented each year to the top receiver in the nation. This year the honor will be announced and awarded at the Home Depot College Football Awards show in Atlanta on December 10.

Williams and Scott are the only ACC players on the Watch List. Clemson is one of just six schools with two players on the list. The others are Bowling Green, Baylor, Louisiana Monroe, Western Kentucky and Toledo. Clemson and Baylor are the only two schools with two underclassmen on the list.

Last year Williams and Scott combined for 1995 receiving yards, the fourth highest total in Clemson history for a receiving duo.

Williams, a junior from Vance, S.C., led Clemson in reception yardage with 1030 off 57 catches and he scored six touchdowns. His 18.1 average was seventh best in the nation among players with at least 50 receptions. Williams had four 100-yard receiving games, including 9-112 against Oklahoma in the Russell Athletic Bowl.

Scott, a freshman All-American in 2014, had a team best 76 receptions for 965 yards and a team best eight receiving scores. He had four 100-yard receiving games, including 185 yards on seven catches against South Carolina, the most receiving yards in Clemson history against the Gamecocks. He had eight receptions for 114 yards in the 40-6 win over Oklahoma in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
