Television icon David Letterman hosted his final Late Show episode on Wednesday night so in tribute, here is a throwback in honor of his work in the entertainment industry.

"We've done over 6,000 shows ... and I was here for most of them, and I can tell you a pretty high percentage of those shows just absolutely sucked," Letterman told the audience during his final show. "And also, in light of all of this praise, merited or not, do me a favor: Save a little for my funeral."

The following throwback video is of former Clemson great William Perry making a guest appearance on the David Letterman Show back in 1985.

Here are a few highlights from Letterman's final Late Show episode.
